As soon as that Oregon bakery cashed in (and a pizza joint somewhere, too, right?) I bet a million light bulbs went off over people like Kim Davis’ heads. Savage nailed it with this – it’s all about the grift. It wouldn’t surprise me if she didn’t even attend church regularly – which is fine by me except when you’re pretending to be a devout Christian.
Oops – gotta backtrack – I’m being convinced now that Davis is a repentant sinner. First Draft posted excerpts from a Salon article about the self-righteousness of reformed sinners that rings true.
