Statistically, the Bernie Sanders surge is driven mostly by white liberal men. Now, either those men are much, much smarter and politically savvy than women — or something else is in play.

So, um, what is the implication? I’m not well enough up on the news to feel like I know. Sanders himself doesn’t strike me as racist or sexist much (but as I say I don’t know that I’ve been paying enough attention). There’s a huge whiff of sexism at the very least in his supporters. I’m not sure I sense racism there, but there’s definitely a strong odor of classism as well.
It’s that there’s a substantial gender gap in the primary support for Sanders.
