This week was a wake-up call, but the kind of wake-up call that sits you right up because you weren’t expecting it. It wasn’t just the polls tightening a bit, as you knew they would when Republicans consolidated around their nominee. It wasn’t just a “Commander-in-Chief Forum” that established just how low the media is setting…
Well, sort of. The only thing wrong with the analysis is that people didn’t vote for the current POTUS because he was so good.
They voted for him because the market crashed and McCain was stupid and wrong enough to say the equivalent of “Shit happens.” Before that, McCain was five points ahead.
They voted for Obama because they wanted to pat themselves on the back for being so unracist. The response to sexism is still “sexism? what sexism? and don’t you dare point out my sexism!” So self-congratulation won’t help us here.
And the media was all over Obama. Clinton’s only purpose in their tiny minds is for them to get their in-group jollies by beating up on her.
Plus, another thing. Obama didn’t actually “defeat her.” She won the popular vote in the primaries, and the DNC carried him over the finish line by invalidating Florida and Michigan votes.
The only thing that’s ever defeated her is the same vast right- and left-wing conspiracy of dumb dudes who fear the competition. And because of who she is, she’s always turned into a mere setback.
But the article is right that the country can’t afford another setback. We need saving now. No time left for setbacks.
