I have never seen anything like yesterday, when almost every progressive I know was running around with their hair on fire. “Look at the exit polls! Look at the exit polls!”
Look. The problem with the exit polls? They’re based on Democratic turnout. They’re not counting the Republicans. We already know that a lot of Republicans, especially women, are voting for Hillary. But the exit polls aren’t counting them. So let’s be consrvative. (Hey, a pun!) Let’s assume a minimum of 5% of Republicans are voting for Hillary. That makes a pretty radical difference in the exit polls, doesn’t it?
Relax. I’ll tell you if it’s time to panic.

I’m not sure I get it. In what way are exit polls now based on Dem turnout any more than at any other time?
(Speaking of panicking. Without any trigger warning at all I came across a photoshopped pic of you-know-who in the Oval Office and there was that reflex of abject horror before I managed to escape to another page.)
Because they are really entrance polls based on voter registration?
The really hard part about not panicking is that we never know what lies the FBI will formulate next. Here in Georgia there were reports that in some black districts the early voting machines flipped the voter’s vote from Hill to trump………………..automatically! Then, we have the MSM doing the horserace- type reporting that they always do in presidential elections, i.e., Hill is up, now she’s down. WTF?? Makes me want to just turn the teevee off and pray we don’t wake up Wednesday hearing some ridiculous news that trump is the new leader of the free world. I swear I’d leave here and move to an island in the Southern Hemisphere!
Some of them, not all. Plus, pollsters are having trouble getting exit pollsters who speak Spanish.
I’ve looked into those voting machine flips from the Republican side, and it was always user error.
Who are these ticket splitters? I mean those who split R and D? I have never met one. Everyone I know is all in on liberal or conservative. I split vote, but it’s democrat plus green or progressive, or whatever.
I’ve met a lot of them. They’re only semi-informed, and have swallowed mainstream media tropes like “both sides are just as bad” and “we need one side to keep an eye on the other side.”
