  1. Why do we need to raise the debt limit?

    Because the Republicans are spending more money then they are collecting in taxes.
    Therefore they need to borrow money from China and Russia.

    Why, then, are the Republicans cutting corporate taxes and taxes on the wealthy which will increase our debt by an additional $2 trillion dollars?

    Because the wealthy oligarchs in the donor class are demanding a tax cut.

  2. There is no bigger waste of time than calling a Republican Congressperson. The farm has been bet on their donors. Until they absorb a crushing loss nothing changes. The current tax bill not only protects a 15% tax rate for hedge fund managers, but now carves out a 20% bracket for business owners. We did all that calling and this is what we get. It does not work.

  3. That is the Senate bill. The House members are all up for reelection next year and your calls determine how far they’re willing to stick their necks out for the conference version.
