This story makes me sick

  1. Collecting 12 thousand children, who have been separated from their parents by ICE, and placing them in fenced cages in detention centers along our southern border is un-American.

But then, everything that Trump does is un-American.

Or at least it is to every American except for those who support Trump and the Republicans.

  2. This story reminded me of Eduardo. Eduardo was one of five undocumented kids the new owner of the warehouse I managed hired when his policies were obviously killing the business and he needed to save money in a big, bad way.
I was at my wits end by then, and trying to fly the warehouse basically by myself, working eighty hour weeks getting five delivery routes out each day, and I had no time to try and train those kids.
Eduardo, who only spoke broken English, saw what was happening and took it upon himself to learn how to pull orders and mark them for the specific route they belonged on.
In two weeks he was pulling all of the orders himself and I got on with the backlog of work I had piling up.
    I sort of loved Eduardo.
Three weeks and I got the first day off I’d had in months.
That day I stayed home, playing guitar and listening to music, and I didn’t feel like going anywhere, so I did something I never usually did: I ordered a pizza delivery.
The knock came at the door, and when I opened it, there with my pizza, was Eduardo, who obviously had other employment besides the warehouse because they weren’t paying him enough there to live.
It felt kinda weird, because even though they were only paying me $12.50/hr, I knew that was much more than they were paying him, and I doubted he had the kind of money to order pizzas with, but I said fuck it and tipped him a twenty. He didn’t seem to mind, and back at work nothing was said.
