Trump meets Putin in Finland next week to discuss a stupid idea—–breaking up NATO.
That idea is almost as stupid as the Bush/Obama plan to expand NATO to the western border of Russia.
That idiotic idea caused the civil war in Ukraine, the annexation of Crimea, the Assad/Putin partnership in Syria, etc.
The Trump/Putin plan will cause a European arms race and an end to the policy of a collective defense between Western Europe and the United States. That’s dangerous for both the US and Russia.
If everybody is well armed and feeling threatened, then nobody is safe.
