Panhandle Slim… Art for Folk…

Savannah, Georgia is a perfect storm of a tourist town with plenty of real assholes. I talking about rednecks, tourists, golfers, and crazy ass gun crazy military. (Don’t get riled, I support the troops.)

But, in Savannah’s most visited area near the River is the Marketplace, a cool shopping, eating, and music venue area where many of the best and the worst of visitors congregate. And at Vinnie van Go-Go’s pizza parlor is where somebody learned the hard way that you just don’t mess with waitstaff used to jerk tourists.

Check this out…

The wait person was Emelia Holden. She is Savannah’s hero of the week. The paper had an editorial cartoon about the incident.

I just loved it. As a woman of a certain age that waited tables in college and in my young adult years, I just had that tingle of sweet revenge regarding all the abuse I took back in the day.

Never missing a opportunity to demand or celebrate justice, Panhandle Slim made Emelia a painting commemorating the event.

Woman, you are my hero!
