Jessie Stokely-Spruell, my colleague and pal, died of a heart attack Saturday. She wrote for us at C&L for years, until the increased demands of her family gymnast business required her full attention.
She was the kind of person who’d raise money for the talented kids whose parents couldn’t afford the costs of their gymnastics training.
But mostly, I just loved her. I don’t say that about many people, especially in the online world. But she was incredibly smart, funny, and feisty, and we bonded.
The world is a little less wonderful without her in it.
P.S. She already voted, and she would want me to tell you she would kick your fucking ass if you stayed home.
