Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory

I can’t begin to tell you how furious I am over this. One of the best strategic minds we’ve ever had in the Speaker’s chair, and a bunch of blue dogs are cutting deals with the newest members to take her out? I donated and worked for some of these people, and you can rest assured they’ll be hearing from me.  In the meantime, read the entire article:

  1. . . . blah blah sorry but we’re capitalists blah blah work across the aisles blah blah spirit of bipartisanship blah blah marketplace of ideas blah blah . . .

There may be alternatives to Pelosi, but are they better? The Republicans never compromise, so why should we have D leadership that does? We must find someone who can neutralize Mitch McConnell and force the White House Occupant to cut serious deals that attain Left legislatives agendas. Whatever happened to card check? How about Medicaid for All? A repeal of the Hyde amendment?

  2. I agree. Unless and until you can show me another Democrat Congressperson who can do a better job of getting legislation passed, I say stick with Nancy.
Plus, she is such a thorn in the Republicans hide it’s a double bonus if she is house leader.

  3. Marcia Fudge is my congresswoman and I like her a lot, but I’ve been trying to encourage her to support Pelosi. She may be a good future speaker, although I’m not convinced that she wouldn’t be better in another position.

  4. Raise your hand if you want Pelosi to work with Trump? On anything.

Crazy Nancy’s tactic of “wrangling” things so that they turn out in her favor is troubling.

We’ll never know if some other person might be better at Nancy’s job then Nancy is until Nancy gives it up.

Anybody with any passion and a few connections can raise $50 million dollars for the cause.

The Pelosi, Hoyer, Clyburn leadership team has to go and go now for the sake of the party.
Their success rate over the past 10 years has been abysmal.
They should all go, but at least two of the three should go and make room for either Fudge or Lee and somebody else.
It would do the party good.

If Fudge wants to take on the leadership role good for her and good for the future face of the Democratic Party.

Everybody eventually outlives their usefulness and the smart people recognize that fact and fade away with dignity.

  5. We would be beyond stupid to cast aside Nancy Pelosi right now when we most need her skill at stopping Republican atrocities in their tracks. She should fill her office with younger members who can then use that experience in leadership roles, but right now? She’s the best we have.
Like Social Security not being privatized? I sure do. Like the ACA? It paid for my cataract surgeries so I’m not blind any more. Like Barack Obama’s legislative aganda? She passed the whole thing, and never lost a vote, only to have much of it (like cap and trade) die in the senate.
I understand how you can dislike the way she talks sometimes, but she was the most effective speaker of the house of my lifetime, and we have a really good example right now in the white house of why it’s a bad idea to elevate the inexperienced to the top leadership position.

  6. For some reason this debate has turned ugly.

Those Democrats vigorously supporting Pelosi’s quest to become the next Speaker of the House sound ridiculous when they charge their opponents with sexism.

    It’s a ludicrous charge.

Representative Marsha Fudge is a woman.
    A Black woman.

Are those Democrats refusing to support Representative Fudge as Pelosi’s replacement racists?

The leadership teams in both the House and Senate are not intellectually competent enough to lead a diverse Democratic Party into the future.

If they were they would never have allowed the “sexism” charge to have reared its ugly head.
Hopefully crazy Nancy had nothing to do with this charge?
