Smerconish pretends that he’s a Libertarian so he is forced to claim that a whole host of things like prostitution are victimless crimes.
Smerconish is also in the habit of forgiving criminal Capitalists like Fred Trump for their sins.
It’s all part of the Capitalist game according to Smerconish.
Trump’s father Fred had a very simple business model.
Build it more cheaply, build it better, and then charge a higher price then anyone else.
As a result Fred Trump’s profits were astronomical when compared to those of others in his peer group.
The question is how Fred was able to build his homes more cheaply then everyone else?
Fred was a thief who cheated his workers out of their wages, his suppliers out of their products, and the government (“we the people”) out of our taxes.
Trump’s philosophy is Fred’s philosophy and Smerconish respects that.
