Speaker Pelosi is on the cusp of turning the legislative branch into a eunuch.
Before the Watergate Hearings began in May,1973 only 27% of Americans felt that Nixon should be impeached.
Today’s pollsters tell us that only 34% of Americans want to impeach Trump.
When the Watergate Hearings ended 12 months after they began everybody wanted Nixon gone and within the week he resigned.
Speaker Pelosi said that politics should not play any role in the Democrats decision to impeach or not to impeach Trump.
Leaders Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Steny Hoyer (D-MD) said that it would be politically dangerous to “attempt to impeach Trump.”
So which is it?
The Constitution demands that House Democrats do their constitutional duty by following the Watergate model and expose Trump’s criminal and unconstitutional behavior.
It’s too bad that Carl Albert (D-OK) and Mike Mansfield (D-MT) (real heroes) aren’t running the House and Senate instead of Pelosi and McConnell.
