The Associated Press headline read “Islamic State threat still far from contained.”
The article went on to say that ex-director (a meaningless position) of the NSC (controlled by Trump) Chris Costa said, “This puts the enemy on its heels, but the ideology—and this sounds so cliched—–it’s not dead.”
First of all there never was an “Islamic State.”
There was an ISIS Caliphate for four years, but that’s been put out of business completely.
But more importantly nobody, or group of nobody’s, in history has ever successfully “eliminated,” or killed off, an ideology.
If such a thing were actually possible then Judaism would have disappeared from the scene long ago.
Republican Mike Rogers admitted, “that after five years of US and coalition effort inside Syria (illegally) the Islamic State threat has not been eliminated.”
We could stay and fight in the Middle East for the next thousand years and ISIS would never be wiped out.
The fact of the matter is that the longer US troops remain in the ME the stronger and more dangerous ISIS and the other “terrorist groups” become.
(If somebody invaded us, killed a million Americans and stole our oil how long would we continue to fight on?)
The warmongers in both political parties (Coons, Van Holland, Carper, Graham, Rubio, Menendez, and the rest) are happy to be fighting endless wars because it’s very profitable for them and the Capitalists.
