Politics and Thanksgiving dinner …

In the course of the last few years, I have been pretty artful at avoiding political conversations with members of my extended family during Thanksgiving (or anytime for that matter.) My family’s political opinions run the spectrum so the potential for lighting a powder keg is pretty high as we are members of a highly opinionated group.

I am pretty blunt, “It is Thanksgiving, how about sending me this in an email.” And I move on the conversation about something benign.

But, some just can’t stop the urge to opine.

Some will have the unfortunate experience of having a distant relative getting a little deep into their cups and start pontificating crazy conspiracies. You know, a real buzz hassle.

Maybe this will help. Maybe.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Everything is politics and politics is everything.

98% of Democrats say that they will not vote for Trump.
Two-thirds of all women say the same thing.
With those kinds of numbers couldn’t anybody beat Trump? Isn’t any Democrat electable?

Yet corporatist Obama was ready to step in and “stop it” should Bernie begin to run away with the Democratic nomination.

When Bernie and Warren began rising in the polls and overtaking the Democratic establishments corporate candidates, Joe Biden showed up on the scene.
Once Biden began sinking like a rock, Buttigieg stumbled in.
Now that Buttigieg has been “found out,” a self-funding, billionaire oligarch and Obama pal, Bloomberg has decided to take things into his own hands and save the Democratic Party and America.

There seems to be a pattern here?
It almost appears that maybe some corporatist, plutocrat and would be oligarch, has stepped in to try to stop Warren and Sanders, who together control a combined 40+% of the Democratic Party.

With enough money anybody can sell anything to anybody.

So far in this political season the Democrats have treated all of us like mushrooms by keeping us in the dark and feeding us manure.
