If we want a single-payer, universal health care system then the Hyde Amendment (1980) must be repealed by congress. If we want abortion to remain safe and legal then congress must codify by law a woman’s right to choose. Republican Henry Hyde (Amendment) was a good catholic boy who believed that the Pope was infallible on all matters including abortion.
