  1. “A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

    The 2nd Amendment speaks to a “well-regulated militia” and not to a free for all of gun ownership.
    The intentional misreading of the 2nd Amendment by the pro-gun lobby feeds into our cultural of violence and makes the gun manufacturers huge profits.

    In 1934 the US strictly regulated the manufacture and sale of machine guns in response to the escalating violence in the streets.

    “Three killed and 11 wounded in Philadelphia, 2 killed and 12 wounded in Chattanooga,” etc.
    The Christofascist Republicans are responsible for most of that carnage.
    More and better guns leads to escalating violence.

    In another example of the culture of death, the US and NATO are sending more and bigger weapons to Ukraine.
    That’s an escalation.
    In response to those weapons on Sunday Russia fired missiles at Kyiv for the first time in weeks.
    That’s an escalation.
    The more firepower delivered to Ukraine or to the streets of America, the more that
    violence and death will escalate.
