  1. Tangentially related to the post, but completely relevant, the “Rent-seeking” class is why income tax was first introduced at the end of the 19th Century. Rent-seeking, think Robber Barons, is the act of growing one’s existing wealth by manipulating public policy or economic conditions without creating new wealth (i.e. Musk, Ellison, Thiel, or any one of those assholes. At first their was no tax for working people and a 95% rate on the Rapist Class, Renters. Now, thanks to republicans, they own all the wheels of government and you and your children will be ground into permanent servitude, think serfs. Democratic Socialism seeks to reverse that situation and return control to wealth producers, all of us.
