Tomorrow I go to rehab

I thought I was doing exceptionally well, but it turned out, not as much as I thought. Standing up in the morning is kind of like falling forward on an huge pile of razor blades, and it takes a while to get steady on the bad knee.

I actually assumed I wasn’t going to need the oxycodone any more. Hah!

So once I settle into the new place, my therapy will be more intense (three hours a day) but damn it, I’ll get it done.

  1. After my stroke and a twenty day stay in the hospital, they wheeled me into the rehab hospital on a gurney. Two months later I walked out using a quad-cane. The program was three hours of PT, two hours of OT, and some speech therapy and time management thrown in to try and teach us how to avoid coming back for another round.
That last was important, because I met several patients in for their second time, two in for their third, and one guy in for his fourth. I teased him about being a “four stroke” but I don’t think he understood the joke.
