Here’s what this means

He will throw his delegates to Kamala at the convention, and she will win the nomination.

  1. Interesting that Barry, Schumer, Jeffries, and Nancy did not immediately endorse Kamala, no? The NYT thinks they know why Barry didn’t. Money quote from Obama’s letter to Joe: “We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead,” Mr. Obama wrote in the post. “But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to CREATE A PROCESS from which an outstanding nominee emerges.” (caps are mine)

Sounds a little too cagey, like maybe he’s waiting to see whether he can be king(queen)-maker through a more “open” process/ convention. See (for instance): https://www.semafor.com/article/07/20/2024/democrats-detail-blitz-primary-options-to-replace-biden

Manchin is sniffing around looking for “centrist” support. He could definitely pull support from Republicans who are nauseous at the thought of four more with Trump and think an opportunist scumbag would be better. That a**hole CA gov has to be calling Nancy, if you would like to replace a mixed race/ethnic woman with a rich white guy. Gretchen is out there somewhere. And, of course, I’m sure Hillary could be drafted to save the country, against her vociferous protestations to the contrary. What a patriot.

Kamala is not a done deal until the fat lady sings. Oh, to be a fly on the wall.

  2. BTW, re: “Biden will throw his delegates to Kamala…”

NBC News: “Biden’s departure frees up his delegates to vote for whomever they choose.”

Biden’s endorsement is important, but the delegates have to commit to Kamala either before or at the convention. They can’t be automatically assigned to Biden by his commitment to or endorsement of Kamala.
