Not because I like to drink, but I needed to mark the historic moment with something unusual. Naturally, after the first glass, I knocked the bottle all over the floor and had to soak it up with some dirty laundry. Living the blogger life!
When Hillary said she wished her mother was alive to see her victory, I laughed. I have no doubt her mother was watching — along with my mother, her four sisters, and all the other wonderful women who are no longer with us. In fact, I imagine our foremothers filled a very large stadium and the cheers were deafening.
Wasn’t it great, Mom? Isn’t it amazing?
And I’m trying to remember if there were as many “Yes, but…” articles the morning after Obama’s historic win. (Hint: There weren’t.)
But we fight on. Only this time, against Republicans. Which is much more fun.

Sorry for being a wet blanket. It is an historic moment and far beyond overdue. Crack (uh, figuratively of course) another bottle on me.
Not sure about the “fun” part – although MSNBC were unusually complimentary toward Clinton last night. Even Tweety!!!!
The contrast between Trump’s pathetic speech and Clinton’s was unbelievable. Trump actually made a “pee-pee” joke.
I drank whisky. I drink whisky in celebration or in sorrow. As Mark Twain said (more or less): moderation in all things, but too much whisky is just enough.
