I’ve been pretty impressed lately at the Twitter response to the latest Wikileaks dump: Why can’t they “leak” Trump’s Tax returns? When @wikileaks leak Trump’s tax returns I’ll start paying attention. These aren’t the droids you’re looking for. #Vault7 – MmMmGood (@mmgood716) March 7, 2017 But then you have unelectable twit, Trump “unofficial advisor” and Brexit… Continue reading “Trump’s ‘advisor’ visits Wikileaks embassy, forgets why!”

Trump traded Ukraine for Russian Wikileaks himself at RNC
“You can feel the pillars sort of start to sway here, right?” “Sort of”, Rachel? “Start to”? The latest has to do with that very weird outcome of the Republican Platform, where the Trump campaign apparently didn’t give a rat’s butt about anything in the document except the Russia platform plank regarding Ukraine. Turns out there’s… Continue reading “Trump traded Ukraine for Russian Wikileaks himself at RNC”
Was Gold Star dad Khizr Khan’s Canada event cancelled due to travel privilege review?
If this is true, it is the most evil kind of political retribution that’s possible. The Trump administration’s “travel ban” has apparently had an immediate impact on a Gold Star family. That family are the Khans. “The Muslim-American parents of a fallen U.S. Soldier who posthumously won the Gold Star and the Purple Heart. Their 27… Continue reading “Was Gold Star dad Khizr Khan’s Canada event cancelled due to travel privilege review?”
The danger of underestimating Betsy DeVos
Without question, Betsy DeVos came across during her senate confirmation hearing as a wee bit dense. It appeared that she lacked the basic understanding of how our educational system works. Many times she left senate Democrats with a puzzled look on their faces, not understanding how Trump could have nominated a woman who lacked basic knowledge… Continue reading “The danger of underestimating Betsy DeVos”
Gorka refuses to deny white supremacy in the White House
At CPAC last week, Sebastian Gorka stood near his allies at the Judicial Watch booth while texting and reading on his phone while a reporter tried to get him to put the allegations of white supremacy in the White House to rest once and for all. It’s really quite chilling. The reporter asks him to clear… Continue reading “Gorka refuses to deny white supremacy in the White House”
‘Entitlements’
Nothing pisses me off more than a Republican calling the social safety net “entitlements,” but I guess we’d better get used to it. At least we’re okay for now — until Ryan gets his Holy Grail:
Donald Trump’s first budget proposal will spare big social welfare programs such as social security and Medicare from cuts, the treasury secretary, Steven Mnuchin, said in an interview broadcast on Sunday.
Mnuchin said Trump would use his first address to Congress on Tuesday night to preview some elements of his sweeping plans to cut taxes for the middle class, simplify the tax system and make American companies more globally competitive with lower rates and changes to encourage manufacturing.
Speaking on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, Mnuchin, who has acknowledged that tax reform is his top policy priority, said the budget plan would not seek cuts to federal benefits programs known as “entitlements”.
“We are not touching those now. So don’t expect to see that as part of this budget, OK,” Mnuchin said of the programs. “We are very focused on other aspects and that’s what’s very important to us. And that’s the president’s priority.”
Everyone keeps says how focused Trump is about delivering on his campaign promises, but what his voters didn’t get is that the one about “saving and protecting” Social Security and Medicare is just typical wingnut talk for “slashing and burning” under the guise of maintaining the programs’ long term stability. But you knew that already, right?
Republicans are only good at destruction
This is what they’re up to. Again:
Stephen K. Bannon, President Trump’s reclusive chief strategist and the intellectual force behind his nationalist agenda, said Thursday that the new administration is locked in an unending battle against the media and other globalist forces to “deconstruct” an outdated system of governance.
In his first public speaking appearance since Trump took office, Bannon made his comments alongside White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus at a gathering of conservative activists. They sought to prove that they are not rivals but partners in fighting on Trump’s behalf to transform Washington and the world order.
“They’re going to continue to fight,” Bannon said of the media, which he repeatedly described as “the opposition party,” and other forces he sees as standing in the president’s way. “If you think they are giving you your country back without a fight, you are sadly mistaken.”
Atop Trump’s agenda, Bannon said, was the “deconstruction of the administrative state” — meaning a system of taxes, regulations and trade pacts that the president and his advisers believe stymie economic growth and infringe upon one’s sovereignty.
“If you look at these Cabinet nominees, they were selected for a reason, and that is
deconstructiondestruction (EDITOR’s NOTE: THERE, FIXED THAT FOR YOU!),” Bannon said. He posited that Trump’s announcement withdrawing from the Trans-Pacific Partnership was “one of the most pivotal moments in modern American history.”

If you follow this sort of thing carefully, you know that Bannon is mostly full of shit, prone to hyperbole, self-flattery and puffery. (Like most career drunks, he is prone to grandiosity.) That does not mean he isn’t dangerous. He is telling the truth that the nominees were carefully chosen to blow things up, and he really does believe in making us over into a white Christian nation. (You know who else believed that, right?)
And after all, a habitual, slovenly drunk only has so many jobs for which he can bother to haul his ass out of bed in the morning. Oliver Cromwell-lite is probably the best he can hope for.
Senator David Perdue doesn’t “do” Townhalls …
Senator Perdue does not prefer to do Town Hall meetings, as he prefers more “one on one” meetings with constituents (donors and businesses.)
So, he has “Office Hours” events that he does not attend as had his aids there on his behalf. There are some people that thought that just wasn’t acceptable and decided to show up (about 175) at his event in McDonough, GA, a town just south of the Atlanta sprawl. This place is not a Democratic stronghold by any means. This is the second “Office Hours” during the recess, the first one on Grensboro, GA, a joint event with Senator Isakson and Congressman Jody Hice. That meeting had overflowing crowds that were pretty darn vocal.

Local activists and advocate are planning more demonstrations calling for Town Halls by Senators Perdue and Isakson during the recess.
I haven’t seen Georgia get so fired up since the march in Forsyth County in 1987.
Glad to see it.

New Trump plan: Deport anyone caught crossing Mexican border
Buried deep in the Trump Administration’s plans to round up undocumented immigrants is a provision certain to enrage Mexico — new authority for federal agents to deport anyone caught crossing the southern border to Mexico, regardless of where they are from. If present immigration trends continue, that could mean the United States would push hundreds of… Continue reading “New Trump plan: Deport anyone caught crossing Mexican border”
