Oh thank God

Dennis Rodman Arrested By Police In Newport Beach

At least one person there will be smarter than Trump:

NBA star turned Kim Jong Un soulmate Dennis Rodman will be in Singapore during President Trump’s summit with the North Korean dictator next week, The Post has learned.

“The Worm” will arrive in the country a day before the June 12 sitdown — and sources said he could even play some sort of role in the negotiations.

“No matter what you might think about his presence. One thing’s for sure the ratings will be huge,” a source said. “A lot of times in situations that involve complex diplomacy countries like to identify ambassadors of goodwill and whether you agree with it or not Dennis Rodman fits the bill.”

The zany, 6-foot-7 ex-baller — who has struck up an unlikely bromance with the pint-sized, 5-foot-7 Kim, and has visited the rogue regime five times in the past — took some of the credit for getting the two leaders together.

Summit canceled

Breaking News: Trump calls off summit with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un

Apparently Trump’s feelings were hurt after the North Koreans said mean things! The Washington Post:

President Trump on Thursday canceled a planned summit next month with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, citing “tremendous anger and open hostility” from the rogue nation in a letter explaining his abrupt decision.

“I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting,” Trump said to Kim in a letter released by the White House on Thursday morning.

Looks like Mike Pence shooting off his mouth is what blew things up!

Trump’s decision comes hours after North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, in remarks carried on the country’s official KCNA news service, said it would not “beg the U.S. for dialogue” and warned that it could make Washington “taste an appalling tragedy.”

Choe also called Vice President Pence a “political dummy” and criticized Pence’s recent suggestion that North Korea could end up like Libya if doesn’t come to the bargaining table.

“As a person involved in the U.S. affairs, I cannot suppress my surprise at such ignorant and stupid remarks gushing out from the mouth of the U.S. vice president,” Choe said.

Here’s his letter:

First Meeting Between President Moon Jae-in and Chairman of Stat

Trump really thought it was going to be that easy, didn’t he? Moron.

North Korea has announced it is suspending scheduled talks with South Korea due to US-South Korean military drills, which it called a “provocation”.

North Korea’s state-run Central News Agency (KCNA) said that the so-called ‘Max Thunder’ drills between the South Korean and US Air Force are simply a “rehearsal for [an] invasion of the North and a provocation amid warming inter-Korean ties,” Yonhap News Agency reported.

“This exercise targeting us, which is being carried out across South Korea, is a flagrant challenge to the Panmunjom Declaration and an intentional military provocation running counter to the positive political development on the Korean Peninsula. The [US] will also have to undertake careful deliberations about the fate of the planned North Korea-US summit in light of this provocative military ruckus jointly conducted with the South Korean authorities,” KCNA said.

The talks, scheduled for 16 May, were meant as a follow-up to the historic and opulent ceremony during which North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in signed the Panmunjom Declaration for Peace, Prosperity, and Unification of the Korean Peninsula during the Inter-Korean Summit on 27 April. The signing took place in the in the neutral territory between the two Koreas, the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ), and officially ended the war that began when the north and south split in a battle over communism and democracy that began on 25 June 1950.

N. Korea wants talks with Trump

If he successfully pulls this off, I’d be happy to give him credit. But clearly he’s going to be the sucker in this particular poker game. He’s completely oblivious to the important nuances of diplomacy and ill-prepared on policy. I predict he’s going to make disastrous promises he can’t keep, but he won’t be able to simply talk them away this time, and it will have serious consequences. There is no way Kim Jong Un is going to give up his nukes, but Trump will flatter himself that he pulled it off:

North Korea has invited President Donald Trump to meet their leader Kim Jong Un according to a senior US official and a former US senior official.

Trump told reporters Thursday that South Korea will make a “major announcement” concerning North Korea at 7 p.m. ET.

On Thursday a South Korean delegation came to the White House to brief officials on its most recent talks with North Korea — the most significant talks between the two countries in more than a decade.

The South Korean officials visiting the White House on Thursday talked to Trump, a person familiar with the matter said.

They delivered a letter from Kim Jong Un to Trump inviting him to meet, according to a senior US official and a former US senior official.

The senior US official said North Korea has offered to suspend their nuclear missile testing alongside their invitation for talks. The official also said there are no plans to suspend the upcoming planned military exercises with South Korea.
