I’m not a believer as such, coming from a multi-faith family. But I have always thought that as a teacher, Jesus of Nazareth had great things to say about love and doing good works to honor His Father. And every statement had to do with helping those less fortunate. 1 John 3:17-18 ESV But if anyone… Continue reading “Frank Schaeffer on the cult Of Trump: ‘The Christians have denied Jesus this Easter’”

Donald Trump gets schooled fast for asking why Obama left so many judicial vacancies (VIDEO)
Donald Trump thanked former President Barack Obama in a condescending fashion for leaving so many judicial posts and asked, “Why the hell did he leave that?” The former reality show star seems totally unaware that his party blocked confirmations during the Obama administration. Continue reading “Donald Trump gets schooled fast for asking why Obama left so many judicial vacancies (VIDEO)”
It’s not Trump, it’s the GOP.
Here we go again. Last night’s 11th Hour: BRIAN WILLIAMS: You and I keep having this conversation, but this president’s playing with house money. This is your political party, the ruling political party right now in this country. We’re going to see in short order, couple of months, if the president can take any of his… Continue reading “It’s not Trump, it’s the GOP.”
Cambridge Analytica, Part 2
This is even worse than the first part. Britain’s Channel 4 undercover expose:
An undercover investigation by Channel 4 News has revealed how Cambridge Analytica claims it ran key parts of the presidential campaign for Donald Trump.
The British data company was secretly filmed discussing coordination between Trump’s campaign and outside groups – an activity which is potentially illegal.
Executives claimed they “ran all the digital campaign, the television campaign and our data informed all the strategy” for President Trump.
In the third part of a Channel 4 News investigation into Cambridge Analytica, bosses also talked about:
- The full scale of their pivotal work in Trump’s election win
- How they avoid Congressional investigations into their foreign clients
- Setting up proxy organisations to feed untraceable messages onto social media
- Using a secret email system where messages self-destruct and leave no trace
- Cambridge Analytica’s involvement in the “Defeat Crooked Hilary” brand of attack ads
Trump staffers who signed NDAs offered pro bono aid
A prominent Washington, D.C., lawyer who specializes in national security and free speech—often in the cases of current or former federal employees—has offered his firm’s services on a pro bono basis for any White House staffer who signed a nondisclosure agreement at President Donald Trump’s urging. Making up his own laws
Just a little reminder that Trump’s staffers work for the U.S. government, not Trump. I doubt very much these NDAs are enforceable:
In the early months of the administration, at the behest of now-President Trump, who was furious over leaks from within the White House, senior White House staff members were asked to, and did, sign nondisclosure agreements vowing not to reveal confidential information and exposing them to damages for any violation. Some balked at first but, pressed by then-Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and the White House Counsel’s Office, ultimately complied, concluding that the agreements would likely not be enforceable in any event.
[…] Moreover, said the source, this confidentiality pledge would extend not only after an aide’s White House service but also beyond the Trump presidency. “It’s not meant to be constrained by the four years or eight years he’s president — or the four months or eight months somebody works there. It is meant to survive that.”
This is extraordinary. Every president inveighs against leakers and bemoans the kiss-and-tell books; no president, to my knowledge, has attempted to impose such a pledge. And while White House staffers have various confidentiality obligations — maintaining the secrecy of classified information or attorney-client privilege, for instance — the notion of imposing a side agreement, supposedly enforceable even after the president leaves office, is not only oppressive but constitutionally repugnant.
Unlike employees of private enterprises such as the Trump Organization or Trump campaign, White House aides have First Amendment rights when it comes to their employer, the federal government. If you have a leaker on your staff, the cure is firing, not suing.
The giant manbaby was rushed to the golf course to keep him from tweeting
Donald Trump has been busy this Sunday, but not in a good way. While most American presidents spend their weekends with family and friends, or even catching up on their reading, Trump spent most of the morning tapping away on his cell phone, sending out one tweet after another. This should be quite a week
After Andrew McCabe’s firing Friday night, watch for the FBI and the CIA to start unloading intel on Trump. Chances are also good that Trump fires Mueller this week. In the meantime, here is a recipe for kettle corn, since you will need some snacks!
BREAKING: Stormy Daniels was physically threatened
Stunning. Stormy Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti disclosed on Morning Joe this morning that Stormy Daniels was physically threatened regarding the NDA she signed. Knowing Trump henchman/thug Michael Cohen’s pseudo-Godfather persona and past history, I’m gonna guess it was the classic “You won’t be so pretty if someone throws acid in your face” kind of coercion –… Continue reading “BREAKING: Stormy Daniels was physically threatened”
Trump is making the world more dangerous
This planet just became a more dangerous place to live. It may not have seemed so last week, when Donald Trump agreed to meet Kim Jong Un for negotiations over North Korea’s nuclear arsenal. Trump’s abrupt diplomatic offer was certainly an improvement on his jeering, boasting, and threatening on Twitter – even if he doesn’t understand that he gave away exactly what the dictator wanted most, without getting anything in return.
