Here’s what Juan Cole left out. In order for the Second coming of Christ to take place, all of the “Jews” must convert to Christianity or be killed. When the Evangelical Christians talk about Armageddon that’s what they mean. Evangelical Christians believe that the way to create the conditions for the Armegeddon and the Second coming is to provoke the Muslims into action against the “Jewish nation.” In other words start a gigantic war. This film was made to that end. The Right in America wants an end to a Jewish Israel and a “New Heaven and a New Earth” with the “returned Christ” leading a “Christian Israel and world from Jerusalem.” When the Right in Israel aligns itself with the Evangelical Christian movement in the United States it is playing a very dangerous game. But that’s what Netanyahu has done for personal political reasons.
We need to remember Juan Cole was one of those who supported the intervention. He is in denial about the reactionary forces we armed in the name of supporting rebels. And the angle of revenge attack by Al Qaeda for Obama’s drone killing is missing in most accounts.
I had a tough time sifting between fact and fiction on Libya last year because even supposedly “credible” sources like Democracy Now, guardian etc were cheerleading for war to varying degrees. I consider Angry Arab blog as a credible source.
Yesterday, Democracy Now (now war mongering on Libya toned down) interviewed Tariq Ramadan.
