i think calling them “radical Islamic extremist” is a real stretch at this point. at least you can only make that claim if you ignore what most people who are reporting from rebel-held areas are saying and give a lot of credit to the folks who tend to view any Arab movement as being a form of Muslim fundamentalism.
Oh! I forget where I saw that, but it seemed to be a relatively knowledgeable source, so I assumed it was true. My bad!
