  1. And the geniuses know that instead of the terrible triangulation Clinton could have used alternative approaches that were even better.

Translated into English: the geniuses always hated Clinton despite his courage and initiative in his first years and the peace and prosperity he brought us.

Obama who cannot find his way out of a brown bag, he is great; HA

  2. Uppity, elitist, BS.
Written so that nobody outside this little clique could ever understand it.
Is this supposed to be Obama’s base???? NO NO NO!!! 98% of Obama’s base wouldn’t have a clue of what these people are talking about. I’m one of them.
I’d go as far as saying that this is THE elitist leftists (are they?)
Although I wouldn’t know how leftist/rightist they are, since I don’t have a clue of what they’re talking about, but talk about NOT connecting to the Base! I don’t see myself as un-educated, yet I don’t relate in any kind of way to this kind of conversation. If I have to look up, in the dictionary, many of the words in that they use in a conversation about people like me…….well, it tells me they don’t know shit about people like me.
Explain to me, in plain English, what they’re saying.
    You can’t – they’re full of upper-class BS.
Now, explain again how the US is a classless system???

  3. “At all times, in any era, a president must deal with the Congress he has and not the Congress he might wish to have.”
“You go to war with the army you have, not the army you wish you had.”
Not to any point, really, except a certain amount of WTF?

  4. Whoever – Rumsfeld? at the beginning of the Iraq quagmire, said that you go to war with the army you have, not the army you wish you had. It was shocking to hear nearly the same thing come out in this context. More buck-passing, I guess.

  5. The level of anti-Clinton assholery out there is truly mind-boggling to me. There was not a single conservative issue that passed that Clinton didn’t move quite a bit left – even NAFTA. Obama doesn’t even try.

  6. Lots of bashing of the big O today. I can’t say that I understand it either. Obama is utilizing a similar strategy of triangulation, just as Clinton did. Even if you aren’t thrilled with the HC bill (me either, btw), he (and Congress) still managed to pass something that no other President had been able to pass.

It’s time for the Clinton backers to stop hating. Let’s see where Obama leads us over the next 3 years. Wherever that may be, it’s a hell of a lot better than the previous eight.

  7. So far, he’s leading us deeper into war, offshore drilling and Social Security “reform.” I can hardly wait to see what happens next!

  8. JB –

Clinton’s triangulation led to the left. Obama’s to the right. That’s the difference. Obama is a Reaganite who occasionally gets something right. Clinton was a liberal in office during a deeply conservative time and yet he is still way to Obama’s left. Way. Way. Way.
