Oprah and the ‘warrior woman’

As I wrote earlier this week, all the usual suspects are hopping onto the corporate school “reform” bandwagon. Today Oprah featured Bill Gates, Michelle Rhee and Davis Guggenheim.

Her website was deluged with teachers, angry fans who were furious that she had no teachers on to give their side of the story.

  1. The captains of bilkery want cogs for their money-making machines and dupes for their “investment” offerings. They will promote education as far as it serves those ends.

  2. Ugh. Just like the poor are demonized by definition (no money = no political power), so are teachers dumped on for being the lowest on the totem pole. Way to go Oprah.
