Susie: Good interview. I’m glad I decided to play it.
I have only one quibble: Not everyone got/gets 99 weeks of benefits. There are a lot of people whose state only had fewer weeks of extended benefits and they’ve been cut off for months now.
It’s just shorthand. I know this; I only got 73 weeks.
I’ve started to write about the 99-week thing almost everywhere, especially at the New York Times and such places. I really should do a regular letter-to-the-editor about it and have that as something I can post. I’m sorry for the people losing benefits now and in the states that did actually have 99 weeks, but there are so many of us who were cut off in the past year and who are going of the cliff.
