  1. Among the many reasons not to vote for Obama (murder, torture) Geithner is actually one of the strongest. I remember seeing him in an interview on The News Hour early in the financial crisis. Defending the TARP and other big bank bailouts, he said, “Everything we’re doing is for main street. We’re not doing this for Wall Street.”

Actually he demonstrated considerable transparency. His delivery was oily and made my skin crawl. To me, at least, he was transparently a plutocrat sycophant and scumbag of epic proportion.

His lack of self-awareness was an early example of Blankfein’s “Doing God’s work…” and the continuing massive bonuses, and, of course, Jamie Dimon’s fecklessness before Congress.

The Mittster family’s “you people” really doesn’t come close, as they’re defending personal information not corrupt public policy.

  2. I beg to differ about your analysis, Adam, regarding Ann Romneys’ “you people” comment, which suggests she and Willard are at least on par with any other plutocrat in the country. Defending “personal information” like tax returns for a man who wants to be president is pure, unadulterated bullshit. There may be just as much corruption within the Romney’s financial affairs as those folks you mention in your comment, and us common folks may never know how much.

In fact, I understand that today Willard is overseas bringing in 75 G’s per person at a Barclay’s Bank fundraiser for his campaign. Barclay’s, as you know, is under investigation for fucking around with interests rate: fleas, say hello to the dogs!

  3. You’ve got me salivating for those tax returns. But I still think Geithner is a world-class scumbag. Can Romney be worse, given that Geithner has actually influenced economic policy and Romney is just a wannabe?

  4. what susie said. I fucking despise timothy geithner -just his name literally brings up this terrible quivering rage that I fiind hard to control- but god almighty, Mitt Romney would make Tim Geithner look like a kid shoplifting a penny gumball.
