German gun manufacturers are offering a handgun for sale that can only be fired by its owner. The trigger recognizes the owners fingerprint and then allows the weapon to be fired. Several gun stores in the US, some in Calif. and Va., offered the guns for sale and received death threats so they stopped selling them. Trigger recognition technology would eliminate kids from killing themselves accidently, thieves from reselling stolen guns and gang members from passing guns around. The same technology could be used for long guns. Where is our Congress on this matter?
