My family are just drawing names this year and we don’t have kids to buy for, so it’s not that bad. I’m taking two weeks off work as well. We also enjoy having a nice Christmas dinner. I guess I’m lucky we don’t make it a big production, and there is something soothing about the slow-down at work at year’s end. A good time to reflect and think ahead to next year.
I’m getting to where I don’t notice it that much. I live thousands of miles from family and I don’t travel or buy gifts anymore. The worst part is the music which starts right after Halloween. But some places don’t seem to do the Christmas music at all nowadays so there is hope for the future.
