Sex as commodity

I’m all for transparency but this is a little strange:

JEFFERSON CITY –Lobbyists who have sex with a Missouri lawmaker or a member of a lawmaker’s staff would have to disclose it to the Missouri Ethics Commission under a bill introduced Wednesday in the Missouri House.

The bill, sponsored by Rep. Bart Korman, a Montgomery County Republican, defines sex between lobbyists and legislators as a gift. As such, sexual relations would have to be included on monthly lobbyist gift disclosure forms.

  1. What a progressive idea.
Now if they would just attach a gift tax to each act they could straighten out the state budget.

  2. Now don’t be too hasty. That would classify lobbyists as sex workers, wouldn’t it? They’d sure be subjected to greater scrutiny than they are now.
