China has seized an unmanned US Navy vessel in the international waters of the South China Sea, Reuters reported Friday. The news was confirmed by the BBC. Further details of the apparent capture are not immediately available.
China asserts territorial claims over a string of islands in the South China Sea, where it has built military-grade airstrips and other infrastructure, dredged harbors and sometimes created artificial islands in an area rich in oil and gas resources. China’s actions are opposed by neighboring countries—Japan, Vietnam, and the Philippines—who also lay claim to the islands and archipelagoes. The US calls China’s actions in the area provocative acts of militarization.

I expect a stern Tweet. Should this happen again a little over a month from now, I expect nukes…
Hainan island 2.0. At least Cheney & Rumsfeld waited until they were in office before trying to start a war with China. If I recall correctly, members of the Bush Sr. admin told them in no uncertain terms that war with China was “not good for business”. Can Trumps cabinet of deplorables be similarly influenced ?
