Never heard of this. Did you have to deposit a coin first?
There was a punk band back in the early eighties that called themselves Cap’n Crunch because of those whistles. I met them when my friend Jack’s band played with them at the Mabuhay Gardens and brought some of them home after the gig. That’s when I heard the story. I remember that the guitar player was so drunk that he forgot his guitar when he left and was pleasantly surprised when we still had it for him the next day.
