I was at the local bank the other day, and the manager was complaining to me that a couple of his clerks quit after they were held up at gunpoint. I tactfully restrained from asking how many of them were eligible for food stamps, since banks are notoriously bad employers — if someone stuck a gun in my face, I know I’d say, “I don’t get paid enough to put up with this shit!”
Also, what about the days when businesses would hire temp workers if they needed them?
