Stripped the country for parts, now upset about what they did
The debt has increased 17% since the Republican tax cut was passed and right on cue the Republicans starting lying about the cause of the increase.
Social Security and Medicare are single-payer programs that are self-funded by hard working Americans.
McConnell and the Republicans call them “entitlement” programs and say that they are the “real drivers of debt by any objective standard.”
McConnell also claims that the recent run up in the deficit can be blamed entirely on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and not the Republican tax cut.

That has been their plan all along. Cut their own taxes and then gut “entitlements” to pay for it. Since those programs are mainly funded by the wages of those set to receive them, the generic term for what they’re trying to do is “stealing” and always has been since the New Deal.
Also, they don’t care about paying for things, that’s just a tactic they use to hinder Democrats when they are in the white house.
So, as the article recently said, the cruelty is the point.
