Not to mention, wide amplitude fluctuations are themselves evidence of increased forcing of the atmosphere — the more energy in, the larger the fluctuations in temp. Mostly to be correlated with fluctuations in density (winds) and in water content (rains and snowfalls). More rain and more snow in some places; large fluctuations in water content induce the opposite as well — significant drying with high winds e.g. in other places.
