It was revealed publicly that fracking became an integral part of our national defense policy beginning in the 90’s.
The policymakers decided that the US must cut its dependence on foreign oil and fracking was the best way to do that.
Not solar or wind or ocean currents or any other renewable energy source.
In the name of energy independence Bush and Cheney pushed fracking and so did Obama and Clinton.
Did any of the politicians care about the environmental damage that was being done? Nope, there was too much money to be made.
