Over the past 10 days Trump has seized 4 Iranian oil tankers on the high seas, attempted to have the UN extend past the October deadline the conventional arms embargo against Iran (which failed), and demanded that the UN exercise the “snapback” language written into the Iran Nuclear deal which Trump exited in 2018 (which also failed).
Trump has both isolated the US and raised worldwide sympathy for Iran.
Both Netanyahu and Trump are in dire political straights and need a major distraction to regain some support.
A war with Iran would fill that bill nicely for both of these criminals.
