Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich accused Fox News host Megyn Kelly of being “fascinated with sex” after she suggested Donald Trump’s poll numbers have been dragged down by allegations of sexual assault, harassment and impropriety. Gingrich, who has essentially served as a Trump surrogate, was clearly unhappy with the direction of the interview from… Continue reading “Newt accuses Megyn Kelly of being ‘fascinated with sex’”

Wolf slams Trump advisor: ‘You don’t go after the First Amendment’
Even CNN’s generally restrained Wolf Blitzer has finally had a belly full of the Trump campaign’s attack on freedom of the press: WOLF BLITZER (HOST): There’s a lot of concern, especially those of us in the news media, journalists, that he’s trying to undermine the First Amendment freedom of speech by going after the news media. Meet The Press panel agrees: This GOP needs to die
The Great Moustache of Understanding has this to say about the Republican Party with Donald J. Trump at the head: “This version of the Republican Party needs to die.” Look, you’ll get no argument about that from me or any regular reader of C&L, although I suspect for different reasons than Friedman. It’s hard for someone… Continue reading “Meet The Press panel agrees: This GOP needs to die”
No political agenda at all
Oh no, nothing political at all!
WASHINGTON — A right-leaning nonprofit has proposed an 11th-hour effort to place news articles critical of HIllary Clinton and other Democrats in black newspapers in the runup to the November election, BuzzFeed News has learned.
The American Media Institute has approached Republican donors to finance the articles, three sources said. They were to run in a nominally apolitical black wire service that serves the black press, the sources said.
One source shared details of the plan with BuzzFeed News out of concern that the proposal “looks like voter suppression,” the source said. The group’s founder, Richard Miniter, adamantly denied that charge. It is also unclear whether any donors have committed to financing the project in the election’s final weeks.
Miniter, a former Washington Times editorial page editor who is CEO and founder of the American Media Institute, has told associates that the that the stories would be distributed by the nonprofit’s Urban News Service, adding that the articles would include attacks on Obamacare and on the Clintons’ failures regarding people of color.Miniter’s pitch, according to a source closely familiar with its details, centers on the prospect of reaching black voters through news articles, rather than obvious opinion pieces or advertisements.
Miniter heatedly denied that his group has any political agenda. He did not respond to more detailed questions about the Urban News Service plan.

Carol Costello abruptly ends segment after Trump supporter brings up Bill Clinton’s ‘love child’
“It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Trump… Continue reading “Carol Costello abruptly ends segment after Trump supporter brings up Bill Clinton’s ‘love child’”
Michelle Obama in New Hampshire
I don’t know if men understand how many women have had a visceral, physical response to Trump and the events of the last week. Unless you’re also been stalked or assaulted, probably not. So many women have told me they were highly anxious and suffering physical symptoms this week, I almost couldn’t believe it — except I was having those symptoms, too.
It was bad enough that I had to watch Trump’s speech yesterday morning. But that the cable networks allow him to do what he does? They’re the “Radio Rwanda” that allows him to use the airways to build a sense of toxic grievance that will, yes, result in domestic terrorism and violence — especially against women. His insane accusations almost always go unchallenged, and to the unsophisticated viewer, that means they must be true.
Shame on MSNBC and CNN for their complicity.
But here was the antidote that lifted the clouds, at least for a while:
Michelle Obama just named the grey fog the women of America have been walking thru all week and then lit a torch to guide us out. #ImWithHer pic.twitter.com/GjXp9KrzZI

Fox and Friends play ‘both sides do it’
The latest Wikileaks email dump, the Podesta hacked emails Part 3, have been scrutinized by opposition Republicans obsessively since they were released Monday. Alas! They believe they’ve found a fatal flaw, one that they want equate with Trump’s ‘locker room’ remarks that were revealed last week. It was revealed that two of Clinton’s current campaign staffers,… Continue reading “Fox and Friends play ‘both sides do it’”
Fair and balanced? The final debate
The final debate – finally fair & balanced. Fox News' Chris Wallace moderates, Wednesday, Oct. 19th at 9p ET on Fox News Channel. pic.twitter.com/PVhWO8YABR

The same person who is advising Donald Trump on his debate preparations (Roger Ailes) is also advising the boss (Rupert Murdoch) of the man hosting it.
I don’t actually expect it to be a problems (because Chris Wallace wants badly to be accepted by the rest of the media, and Rupert’s kids want to wash the Ailes stench off the network), but you never know. Stay tuned!
