PA Gov Tom Wolf has opened up and investigation after 31 uniformed state troopers posed for a photo with Trump at his rally. Department policy requires prior approval to engage in any activity while in uniform, and to avoid politics while in uniform. https://t.co/m7KeG8mxH2

DoJ charges four cops involved in Breonna Taylor death
The arc of the universe is bending in the right direction. Via the Washington Post:
Hankinson and Jaynes were fired from the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department earlier, after being accused of wrongdoing related to Taylor’s death, though Jaynes is suing to get his job back. A Louisville police spokesperson said in a statement that Chief Erika Shields “began termination procedures” for Meany and Goodlett on Thursday. The counts announced Thursday are the first federal charges brought against any of the officers stemming from the raid.
Very secretive Secret Service
PURGED — Here’s the news. Those @SecretService texts are gone, gone, gone . Agency scoured records and said it found nothing new to give Congress . National Archives now investigating if USSS broke the law https://t.co/ROMnhjXSf5

So, the agents were told to back up their texts. Then, the day after a violent insurrection, one in which Trump may have physically put his hands on an SS agent, the agency still not only purges texts, no one checks to see if the agents backed them up? https://t.co/wdR1oV5q5x pic.twitter.com/vxeWwJ65cv

The eternal puzzle
The Yonkers Police Department has been trying to reform for over a decade. And the police commissioner wants to finish the job. But how do you “reform” the police? @NPREmbedded and @marshallporject investigates. https://t.co/SZJ7zPqmhx

Protecting and serving again
Hospital security officers detained a black man they suspected of “casing” a parking garage, beat him, and told him to never come back. He was a patient, looking for his car. He’d been receiving treatment for kidney failure. https://t.co/kLzCT0dsSr

Words to ponder
it's just amazing that we have no expectation that cops can stop mass shootings until well after the fact — a real public safety concern that gets to the heart of their alleged mission — but that we'll outfit them with tens of millions of dollars to blow up the homes of citizens https://t.co/bzO4nQ1UNQ

Hmm
BREAKING: Multiple officers were inside Robb Elementary School with rifles and at least one ballistic shield at 11:52 a.m. the day of the shooting, new video and other evidence shows. They didn’t enter the classroom for another 58 minutes. More soon via @statesman and @KVUE. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/0BcYgq2hcQ

To serve and protect
For more than an hour, police never tried to open a door to the rooms where a gunman massacred 21 people at Robb Elementary, a source tells me.
The gunman could not have locked it from the inside. The doors can only be locked or unlocked from outside. https://t.co/d6XgEkLe1u
