Department of Pre-Crime

Life in this country is looking more and more like “Minority Report,” the science fiction movie where people are arrested before they commit crimes:
WASHINGTON - US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice defended the unlimited detention of suspected terrorists saying, in an interview published on Tuesday, that it benefitted the United States and the entire world.
“You can’t allow somebody to commit the crime before you detain them, because if they commit the crime, thousands of innocent people die, she told the USA Today daily.

Thought-crime is a growing problem in this country. I’m glad to see that our government is taking a strong stand against such illegal mental activity.
Hold on a sec — someone’s knocking at the do
Add to this the police in Miami launching their new preemptive program.
They surround a bank, a store, a park, an office building, and demand to see every person’s ID, on the spot.
Which is totally unconstitutional, a complete violation of the Fourth Amendment’s ban on unreasonable search and seizure.
But I guess it’s more important to start getting the population trained that showing uniformed people your papers on demand is just “what we do in America.”
Since when?

din’tcha know? 9/11 changed everything, including the Constitution. the explosions that day rewrote the whole thing. it was, like, a fucking miracle…
.
I guess that’s good news for the women harassed by stalkers and abusive husbands. Now the police can’t say, “Until he commits a crime, there’s nothing we can do.”

Good thinking Condi.
Let’s just lock everyone up before they even think about commiting a crime. That would really fix those mush brained, liberal, commie, terrorist-loving defenders of habaeus corpus.
In private, contract jails, run by friends of Jack Abramoff, located on reservations. Poetic justice.
Hey, come to think of it, if we locked up half the social security recipients and sent the other half to fight in Iraq, that would solve almost all our problems.
Condi for POTUS.
This is training, conditioning for the next move. You will also see more TV and movies address this. We are being preped for our fearless leaders next move. What has started can not be stopped unless this whole group is removed from power.
Sounds like Condi’s got the same problem as her evil boss: an inability to distinguish between what’s possible and what’s actual. Remember Bushboy asking Diane Sawyer “What’s the difference?” when she pressed him on the fact that Saddam didn’t have any actual WMD programs up and running - there was only the possibility that someday he might have them?

Yes, this is the real war and we are losing. Big.
We have to start somewhere. Let’s fix Susie’s car.
One really troublesome pre-crime is the use of contraceptives to end human life even before it begins. Far too much of this cruel form of murder goes on nowadays.
I hope that the Godly Bush administration can close this shocking legal loophole. Indeed, I also hope that they can arrest, imprison, and execute males who, like Onan, spill their seed upon the ground.
Izquierdo:
They’re working on it, man, they’re working on it. It’s starting to be accepted that some pharmacists can refuse to dispense contraceptives if it runs counter to their faiths.
Pretty soon Onanism will also be illegal.
Just be patient, and your dream will come true.
