I remember when the story first broke. Fascinating, evocative. I remember thinking how thick the air must be with untold stories. Just one being the story of the German invasion, capture of Paris, leading to the the young (21 year-old) woman’s fast-break for the south, and then . . . never to return. Something in Paris too painful to revisit or something in the south that made it not matter anymore?
