Memories light the corners of my mind

My favorite Iran-contra story? When the report was finished, it was pretty damning of Reagan and his minions. One of them had a brilliant idea: “We’ll write an executive summary that completely contradicts the findings! Reporters are lazy, they’ll never read the whole thing.” They were right. The only reporter who read it was I.F. Stone, and no one who mattered listened to him.

  1. Abrams is a fucking war criminal, as are everyone else involved. Raygun was so demented he couldn’t say what day it was without a cue card. The failure to prosecute these murderers is at the top of the slippery slope that got us to the treasonous pack of motherfuckering Republicans occupying the White House and the Senate right now.

  2. Didn’t he play a role in the Emerald Zone in our most recent unnecessary war, or cheerlead torture in the unnecessary war in Afghanistan?
I suppose I could have mixed or conflated one or more of the worst of American Foreign Policy evil-doing retreads.
