  1. Fair-weather friends like these should relocate to Russia, because a democratic republic suffers when there are too many of them walking around free on the streets of New York or Philadelphia.

    And now for something completely different.

    So………..Colonial Pipeline, Inc., a privately owned, for profit company, paid Russian gangsters $5 million to remove their ransomware and promise never to tell anyone what the incriminating information was that the mafia stole from Colonial Pipeline.

    What was in those documents that Colonial Pipeline was so worried about the public seeing that they were willing to pony up $5 million to keep secret? Funny business?

    The other Guerrilla in the room is national security.

    Is it a good idea for “we the people” to put critical infrastructure like pipelines and roads in the hands of private, for profit companies?
    Especially when there is little oversight?
    There are other alternatives.
