He testified last week on the same topic before the Senate Judiciary Committee, asserting that the bureau was justified in opening the investigation but that FBI leaders should not take that as vindication, because of other, serious failures made after that.

President Donald Trump intervened to cut the federal government’s Medicaid funding for Puerto Rico as part of a larger government spending deal, according to four sources with knowledge of the discussions.

Dems appealing ruling in state tax return case…

House Democrats said today they are appealing a district judge’s order requiring them to alert President Trump if they seek his state tax returns under a recently passed New York law…

The dispute focuses on a New York law approved by Democrats there in July that grants House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.) access to the president’s state returns upon request.

Surveillance court demands answers from FBI…

“When FBI personnel misled (the Justice Department) in the ways described above, they equally misled the FISC,” Collyer wrote. “The FBI’s handling of the Carter Page applications, as portrayed in the (inspector general) report, was antithetical to the heightened duty of candor” expected of FISC filings.
