Bill Barr gave a speech at the Federalist Society and hoooboy …

Here’s an excerpt…

Well, if that isn’t a living example of psychological projection, I don’t know what is.

It is pretty obvious Barr has no fondness for Congressional oversight currently, but, this is a little crazy.

“I don’t deny that Congress has some implied authority,” he said. “But the sheer volume of what we see today, the pursuit of scores of parallel investigations through an avalanche of subpoenas, is plainly designed to incapacitate the executive branch and indeed is touted as such.”

Except, Article One states Congress’s explicit powers and authority. Sure, Bill Barr, I know you don’t like it, but, it would be irresponsible not to investigate and apparently, there is plenty there to investigate.

Now, lawyers and legal experts are calling for Barr’s impeachment.

Another dark money group that runs the country

I keep trying to pretend that people are misguided, not evil, but these motherfuckers are destroying my country:

New public charge rule does not bode well for immigrants

Photo by Chris Boese on Unsplash

Immigrants have many laws and regulations with which they must comply if they want to immigrate to the United States. One of those is the fact that immigrants to the United States must be self-sufficient and not likely to become a public charge. Although the public charge rule has always been in the books, it has not been enforced in the same manner as the newly published Department of Homeland Security (DHS) “Inadmissibility on Public Charge Grounds.” Now, that the grounds for interpreting who is likely to become a public charge, the news is not only bad for those coming into the country, but also thousands that are already in the country legally and worried about seeking future immigration benefits.

For decades, the public charge rule has stated that immigrants must not rely on public services such as welfare and must be able to support themselves and their families. Now, a public charge is considered anyone that receives one or more public benefits for a period longer than 12 months. It used to be that immigrants could not receive these benefits for longer than 36 months.

The DHS has also redefined the term ‘public benefit’ to mean any benefits for income maintenance. This includes Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP), and most forms of Medicaid. Under the new definition, most immigrants would also be ineligible for certain housing programs.

“Things are already so difficult for immigrants in this country,” says Immigration Attorney Natalia Segermeister. “It is difficult to understand why we are making it even harder for them. It is even harder to understand why we are applying these laws to immigrants already in the country, when those definitions did not apply when they may have taken public assistance.”

That is unfortunately true. Immigrants that received benefits over the threshold will now be considered ineligible for a change of status or an extension of stay in the future if they continue to receive those benefits. The only people the law does not apply to are refugees, asylees, Special Immigrant Juveniles, victims of domestic violence or qualifying criminal activity, and certain trafficking victims.

Gates testifies at Stone trial about Wikileaks …

This is not really good news for Trump …

Gates answered questions about Trump’s knowledge of the WikiLeaks release during the second week of trial for Republican operative Roger Stone. He’s on trial in Washington, D.C., facing charges that include lying to Congress, witness tampering and obstructing justice related to the special council probe…

Gates, who worked with former campaign manager Paul Manafort, told the court he overheard a phone call in which he believes Stone told Trump about documents WikiLeaks planned to release. The documents included Democratic National Committee emails obtained by Russian hackers.
Gates also said Manafort told him he would keep Trump informed of WikiLeaks’ plans to release the emails…

If Gates’ testimony is true, it directly conflicts written answers Trump gave to a list of questions from Mueller’s team. The president told investigators he didn’t remember receiving any information about the WikiLeaks release beforehand, nor did Stone or anyone else linked to the campaign have contact with WikiLeaks.

Blacks Voices for Trump outreach in Atlanta …

I can’t really think of a more tone-deaf name to put on an African American outreach effort, but, there it is Black Voices for Trump.

Varying estimates of attendees, for the most part, are around 400 people. The usual members of the African American Right attended including Diamond and Silk, Pastor Darrell Scott, Ben Carson, Herman Cain, Alveda King amongst others.

Others that traveled to Atlanta for the event were a Florida group “Blacks for Trump.”

Outside the Georgia World Congress Center, there were an estimated 900 to 1200 protesters.

Trump considering attending Russia’s May Day Parade …

The revelations coming out with the pre-release of “A Warning” are astonishing, but, to me, very believable.

But, then this thing happened…

All roads lead to Putin. But, I guess that phrase has become cliche.
