Think about this: they’re willing for anyone who opposed them to die. That’s America? Counterpunch:

New documents obtained from the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security by the Partnership for Civil Justice and released this past week show that the FBI and other intelligence and law enforcement agencies began a campaign of monitoring, spying and disrupting the Occupy Movement at least two months before the first occupation actions began in late September 2011.

As early as August, while acknowledging that the incipient Occupy Movement was “peaceful” in nature, federal, state and local officials from the FBI, the DHS and the many Fusion Centers and Joint Terrorism Task Force centers around the country were meeting with local financial institutions and their private security organizations to plot out a strategy for countering the Occupy Movement’s campaign.

Interestingly, one document obtained by PCJ from the Houston FBI office refers to what appears to have been a plan by some group, the name of which is blacked out in the released document, to determine who the leaders were of the Occupy Movement in Houston, and then to assassinate them with “suppressed” sniper rifles, meaning sniper rifles equipped with silencers.

The chilling document in question reads as follows:

“One identified BLANK as of October planned to engage in sniper attacks against protesters in Houston, Texas if deemed necessary. An identified BLANK had received intelligence that indicated the protesters in New York and Seattle planned similar protests in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, Texas. BLANK planned to gather intelligence against the leaders of the protest group and obtain photographs, then formulate a plan to kill the leadership by suppressed sniper rifles.”

The wording does not sound like it’s some crank Tea Party faction they’re talking about — especially the words “deemed necessary” and the reference to “gathering intelligence against the leaders of the protest group.” Fortunately, in any case, no such assassination campaign materialized in Houston or anywhere else during the wave of Occupy actions across the country, but at the same time, there were never any arrests of whatever organization or individuals that the FBI clearly knew to be planning such a terrorist action against the Occupy activists.

echocardiogram

I had an echocardiogram and stress test again yesterday, because naturally, the cardiologist at Penn wants to redo the tests that were done at Temple. (Way to save money, guys!) I can’t believe how long it all took, and I predict that everything’s fine. They just want to cover their asses in case I drop dead.

Mike Huckajesus lies again

I know. You’re shocked, right? I’ve never talked to anyone in TV or radio who had a nice thing to say about Mike Huckabee — hell, even Glenn Beck calls him a liar! I do feel bad for all those poor suckers who keep sending him money:

After Mike Huckabee criticized Beyoncé’s music as “obnoxious and toxic mental poison” unfit for children and compared the singer to a prostitute, it didn’t take long for people to point out that he himself had once joined with Ted Nugent to perform a sexually explicit song on his national television program.

Huckabee is, predictably, reacting by pretending that what happened didn’t actually happen, telling the Chrisitan Post today that Nugent “changed the lyrics pretty dramatically” when he sang the song “Cat Scratch Fever” on Huckabee’s Fox News show.

In fact, anyone who watches a video of the performance can see that Nugent didn’t change any of the song’s explicit lyrics as Huckabee accompanied him, 5:25 in.

Steve ‘Looneytunes’ King gets new vocabulary word

Steve King falls into that category known as “No, he really is that fucking stupid.”

Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa) railed against President Obama via Twitter only hours before this Tuesday’s State of the Union speech, referring to an undocumented immigrant scheduled to sit with the first lady during the speech as “a deportable.”

“#Obama perverts ‘prosecutorial discretion’ by inviting a deportable to sit in place of honor at #SOTU w/1st Lady,” King wrote. “I should sit with Alito.”

King’s Tweet likely refers to Ana Zamora, a 20-year-old student from Dallas, who was invited to sit with Michelle Obama during the speech. President Obama’s 2012 executive action granted Zamora and thousands of other so-called “dreamers” legal status, including the possibility of obtaining work permits and drivers’ licenses.

The president’s November 2014 executive action further granted legal status to Zamora’s undocumented parents — a construction worker and a small business owner. In response, Zamora wrote a thank you letter to the White House that led to her being selected for the coveted seat beside the first lady.
